Hard Times Movie Re-Scheduled for May 17

The movie showing of Hard Times scheduled for this weekend has been postponed. the new date is weekend, Sunday, May 17th, 2009 at the California Club Theater, in North Miami, Florida.

belfet.com/events.php?e=5027Hard Times had it's grand premiere back in March and we've heard great things about the movie.

One Haitian filmmaker told Belfim in a phone conversation that he was very pleased with the movie. "Movies like this makes me want to be better" the filmmaker exclaims.

Hard Times is the second film by Haitian filmmaker Leonard Maxime Francois. In his first movie, Selfish Love, he thought us a lesson or two about domestic violence. This time, in Hard Times, he is is proving to us what else we have to loose if we are not careful.

Maxime decided to postpone his movie showing this weekend because it was going to coincide with the premiere of Haitian movie BLOFE; a very nice gesture on his part.

What is Hart Times about?

You know sometimes you have everything going for you and make every possible effort to achieve a level of success in your life. Yes, sometimes it includes getting away from old friends and acquaintances.

These old friends, they have a funny way of crawling back into your life and mess it all up again. This happens in the Haitian community and all around the world. Will power works most of the time but reinforcement is required tune up.

Who are you getting your reinforcement from?
What do you have to loose?

These are some of the issues that this new movie, Hard Times, addresses using Haitian actors, people, and situations that you and/or your children can identify with. This is one more reason why we must support these young filmmakers in their efforts to come up visual aids to help and entertain us at the same time.

Starring Bennchoumy Elien, Aliette Richards, Pantaleon Guilbaud, Maria Cyrius, and Genji Jacques, Hard Times will be playing in south Florida Sunday, May 17th, 2009.
