Guetty Felin Biography

Guetty Felin is an award-winning filmmaker writer and producer of both documentaries and narrative films.

A native of Haiti, Guetty Felin grew up in New York and came of age cinematically in Paris, France while pursuing graduate studies in cinema.

Guetty went to work in production and distribution of documentary films and directed her first documentary Hal Singer Keep the Music Going, portrait of the father of rythm and blues Hal "Cornbread" Singer.

In the fall of of 2003 she moved to Haiti where she was head programmer for Festival Film Jakmel and director of the first cinema workshops; which planted the seeds for the creation of Cine Institute Haiti's only film school on the southeastern coast of the island.

Guetty just completed her first narrative feature-length Ayiti Mon Amour which will have its international premiere at TIFF16.
