The Haitian Cinema Foundation, inc. is proud to announce the First Annual 2008 Haitian Movie Awards, HAMOVAS, in aknowledgement and appreciation of Haitian films.

The HAMOVAS are the first to help promote, develop, encourage, and support local and international haitian producers, actors, writers, and to showcase the mass film talent found in the community, Haiti, and elsewhere.

The Awards will serve as a recognition of movie and acting excellence within the Haitian Diaspora and Haiti.

The HAMOVAS's vision is to be the Haitian's biggest and best Awards for the movie industry.

Our mission is to promote the haitian culture, encourage professionalism in the movie industry, offer professional development and networking opportunities.

The First Annual HAMOVAS will take place in January 2008 in Miami Beach, and presentations at the awards show will feature 2006/2007 category winners.

Over 20 awards will be handed out to winners representing everything from "Best Actor" to "Best Documentary".

The HAMOVAS will be an annual celebration that takes producers, directors, actors and composers through the spirit of Haiti in a grandisoe evening of cinema.

Entries and voting process will be available on our web site www.hamovas.com as of as June 2007.
