Dear Friend,
I am afraid you misunderstand our purpose in Haiti.

My husband's family have worked in Haiti for nearly forty years because we love the people and want to help them to survive.

We have devoted years of our lives to making sure our Haitian friends have food to eat, and a good school in their neighborhood.

The personal sacrifices I have made cannot be counted.

My husband has been gone to Haiti to care for our friends needs, and so I am without my husband, and my children are without their father sometimes fifty percent of the time. My husband has given his health and strength to Haiti.

Every day of his life he feels the effects of serving in your country because he was shot and kidnapped there, His hearing is permanently damaged from being shot at close range, and the psychological scars he carries will probably haunt him for the rest of his life.
We are far from stupid.

We have given every thing we own and every talent we have to help your country.

But you are right.

We have grown very very rich. Not materially, of course.

Our home is modest.

I own one pair of everyday shoes.

But the riches we have will not ever fatten our pocketbooks.

Our riches our eternal.

We will see many of our Haitian friends in our heavenly neighborhood.

We have brothers and sisters who cannot be numbered.

Instead of spouting off vile complaints, why don't you do something useful?

Yours sincerely,
Mrs. Phillip Snyder
