SHOTTAS, Jamaican Film Starring Wyclef Jean
The movie is called SHOTTAS, a Jamaican term for gangsters.
Starring Wyclef Jean, Bob Marley's son Ky-Mani Marley, Louie Rankin, Paul Campbell, and Jamaican dancehall deejay Spragga Benz,
I found out via an email from filmmaker Patrick Ulysse.
Apparently, last weekend Patrick's production company UNiMiX FiLMS showcased the movie SHOTTAS in New York, calling it "a great Haitian/Jamaican collabo"
Wyclef's Role in the movie...
In the movie, Wyclef plays the role of Richie Effs, a character director Cess Silvera described as having "a little Joe Pesci vibe. He'll be killing you, but he'll be laughing while he's killing you." (source: VH1.com)
Guest what... the movie was bootlegged!
SHOTTAS was released back in 2002 and it was bootlegged before it even came out on DVD back in 2006 when Sony Pictures Home Entertainment released it in the U.S.
