"Hope for Haiti Now" TV special Nominated for an Emmy Award

Hollywood California, Haitian Telethon Nominated for Emmy Awards - 10 days after the Haiti earthquake, Hollywood got together to raise money for Haiti in a big television special called "Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief."

Hope for Haiti Now, the television special, has been nominated for Emmy Award by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

The Emmy nomination is in the category of Outstanding Variety, Music Or Comedy Special.

Other shows nominated in that category are: Bill Maher "...But I'm Not Wrong", The Kennedy Center Honors, Robin Williams: Weapons Of Self Destruction, The 25th Anniversary Rock And Roll Hall Of
Fame Concert, Wanda Sykes: I'm a Be Me

The Hope For Haiti Now Telethon was held on January 22, 2010. Within 24 hours, it was reported to have raised an estimated US$58 million, not including corporate and large private donors or sales of the album and video.

George Clooney who was the executive producer of the TV show will be honored at the Emmys.
