Father Christopher Hartley is a Catholic priest who has dedicated himself selflessly to improving conditions for Haitian immigrants cutting sugar cane in the Dominican Republic.

Father Christopher Hartley is the son of a British industrialist and a Spanish aristocrat.

Father Hartley left his upper class life behind after an epiphany during his adolescence, which led him to join the priesthood and move to Calcutta to work with Mother Teresa.

His work in the Dominican Republic follows her example.

Father Christopher Hartley has received death threats and is harshly criticized by Dominicans for advocating on behalf of the Haitians.

His documentary THE PRICE OF SUGAR exposes the painful Haitian cost of Dominican sugar, most of which is exported to the United States.
