Boy I'm glad my Dad is fat. After the last GC priesthood sssieon, my son and I gave 2 people a ride home: a young single adult(YSA)we home teach who only has a learner's permit and our own home teacher.
The YSA asked if he could drive to his house to practice his driving skills.
Out of earshot, my 17 yr old son said I should say no for safety reasons.
My car is an expensive late model import which is the real reason my son protested: he was worried about potential damage to the car, not any of the passengers.
It was 10:00 pm est and I figured there wouldn't be much traffic and, save for the fact it was dark, there wasn't a lot of risk allowing the YSA to drive home. In an attempt to assuage my son's faux safety concerns the other passenger suggested we say a prayer before we left the Chapel parking lot, which we did. After a long and painfully slow drive we safely arrived at the YSA's home. As I climbed into the driver's seat my son piped up Dad, I ain't gonna lie, but I was really scared the whole drive home. While I was chuckling and before I could respond to my son's comment the other passenger said, in a serious voice, Why were you scared?
We said a prayer before we left.
