This is a very nice article, I went and watched the movie the first day it came out.
A lot of what you are saying came to my mind while watching the movie but it do not go as far as the comparison to the Haitian voodoo culture.
It makes me wonder how long it took for them to demonize Haitian Vodou beliefs to the extent that some Haitians don't even wamt to hear about it.
