I like your answer, really I do. But, you asked two questions my friend.

Can Haitian Film makers Make A Better Movie?

And What is the difference between a great Haitian movie and a cheap Haitian movie?

You started by saying, "I think I understand why you, the consumer, are complaining about the quality and content of Haitian movies." I wish you had kept going down that road.

Most Haitian movies that I have watched, have been low budget.

That doesn't mean that they were all bad, some of them were great and impressed me. And it's the same for the higher budgeted Haitian movies; the problem is the content.

Yes, Haitians can make better movies; and a low budget movie can be good. We don't seem to have any screen writers, the story lines for the most part are always the same and rather then having a whole variety of movies to choose from, it seams as if Haitian movie makers keep making the same movie over and over.

I understand the problems and challenges, that is precisely why I did not venture in the movie making business myself, although I'm still contemplating a project.

I have the training and schooling for video and television production, did a stage with channel six in Miramar, and have produced a cable television show for my church for over a year. I will never forget what one of my instructors told me when I was going to school once he found out that I was Haitian.

He wanted to know if I would be using my skills to help improve the quality of my peoples movies, to put it mildly.

I have, by holding small free classes for the youth at my church.

The problem as I see it is that everyone want to make a movie, but most don't care to learn how. Anyone can hold a camera, but the consumer expects and should get a beautifully framed shot, good picture with clarity and proper lighting, great sound and sound effects, good editing, etc. But most of all, lets get a story line. "Mes amis", we have a rich history, we can start there with all of our folk stories, fables, parables, jokes, etc.

Yes we can!
