Christopher Laroche (Freedom) Biography

The movement began with dreams as the most important part of the foundation.

Freedom was born in the poorest place in the western Hemisphere, the town of Cap Haitian, in northern Haiti. Cap Haitian was also where the first slaves became free in the year 1804. This inspired every black man in the Americas to fight for liberation until they had it.

At times, the only thing that he could truly count on to survive everyday was his street smarts. He also discovered at an early age that he had a deep and abiding passion for making music.

His music reflects having to face emotional pressures of growing up in a third world country that was imprisoned by the shackles of corruption. It was a land filled with internal and external problems. Freedom decided to devote his capacity to help his country with his lyrics, to awaken and reunite his people.

Freedom believes that music helps people expel their pain in a way that can rejuvenate the soul. Certain writers feel that if their words are powerful enough, God and the spirits will hear them, deciding to bless their future, and keep their positive goals protected.

He started making music to fight for his people's rights, in the hope that he will inspire all Haitians, to see each other as equals and work together in making a drastic change for Haiti's future. To most people that know him, they would say, that he has worked tirelessly to creating his own sound, and originality mixing Hip Hop, Rap, R&B, Roots, Racine, and his vibe together . Freedom's music is directed towards how the system uses different situations to their advantage, by keeping the third world blinded from the truth.

Freedom writes his songs because he loves making music, and realized the powerful healing abilities that it possesses. By age 11 he was a DJ at the radio station playing urban music for the masses of the North . He was performing in big shows all over Cap Haitian by age the young age of 13.

Freedom then took a break and slowed down on making music to focus on education. He knew that knowledge is power, and with that in mind, kept his mind on the goal. A couple years passed until a serious accident proved to be a wake-up call for Freedom. He then realized that it was time to use what he had learned, to take up the torch and speak up for his people

That is when the Freedom movement began

Freedom made his first album in 2004 called "1804: Liberation". His goal: to promote a new evolution of freedom for his people, and help his people understand his message: they are not alone in the struggle.
