Danny Glover and Toussaint Film

I was involved with the film business for over 25 years and it is simply a matter of economics.

It doesn't matter that the Haitian slaves defeated Napoleon's best, along with those of the British and Spanish monarchies.

It is a subject for the History Channel since it has no way of making back its initial investment as a feature film. 25 years ago, a film had to gross 2.5 times its costs of production, at the Box Office If Glover's film costs $50,000,000 to make it will have to gross over $120,000,000 and this is not likely.

It would be difficult, if not impossible to find a white hero to fit the plot.
I cannot think of one. There were some sympathetic figures, as there always is, but there were no white heros.

Glover has enough in the bank to fund it himself, as does Spike Lee and a host of other heavy duty entertainment figures.

They will probably follow the old Hollywood adage of not investing your own cash in any project.
