van vicker in haitian movie... Do we agree?

this was on van vicker's website...The concerns may very well be legitimate however, there are always pros and cons. The magnititude of Mr. Vickers popularity and fame in the Afro-caribbean community can aide in carrying Haitian actors/actresses to a more diversified audience.

I had no previous knowledge of Haitian movies until I went to the premier of Mr. Vicker's, Friday Night" movies in Miami.

It was there that I learned about the thriving Haitian movie industry.

That is the pro. The con is that Vicker's presence in a Haitian film may usurp Haitian actors/actresses positions.

I would like to submit that the potential benefit may very well outweigh the cost. Vicker may very well be the door that leads to non-Haitian community members to become fans of Haitian movies.

I for one is intrigued by Haitian movies not that I have been introduced to them. It is also a motivation to learn creole and seek a better understanding of the Haitian community.

This is a very important move.
