Roland Dorfeuille AKA Pyram

The famous actor Roland Dorfeuille alias "Pyram" died Friday in Port-au-Prince at the age 65 Radio Kiskeya announced on Friday.

Mr. Dorfeuille died at his home in Carrefour Haiti, his son Hendel Dorfeuille told the press.

an actor in both theater and cinema, Roland Dorfeuille became very well in the Haitian community as "Pyram."

Roland Dorfeuille received the nickname of "Pyram" in a famous Haitian play called "Pelen Tet" by Frank Etienne.

Growning up in Haiti I personally remember "Pyram" in a TV commercial for Bandag Tires, Truck tires by Bandag Inc, a company that was later purchased by Bridgestone tire corporation.

If you grew up in Haiti then your probably remember Pyram, Laguichatte Debordus and Pitit Fey arguing in a TV commercial about which butter they use at home in a "Beure Margarine Marianne" (Marianne Margarine) commercial:

"Sa n-ap di la-a, depi pret 20 tan diri espageti sa avek be marianne yo fel lakay mwen."

If you watch Haitian television in Haiti in the lated 80's than you may remember Roland Dorfeuille AKA "Pyram" in a TV show called "Gabel", a Haitian television series that Bob Lemoine realized in the late 80's.

In the movie Cousines staring Jessica Geneus, and his son Haendel Dorfeuille, Roland plays the role of Felix, a rich old man who makes Jessica an offer she cannot refuse.

Roland Dorfeuille is a father of three, including his son, Haitian actor Haendel Dorfeuille. Our condolences goes out to the Dorfeuille family and all the friends and fans or the man known as "Pyram".

According to his last will, Roland Dorfeuille wants to be cremated.
