La Rebelle Movie, Distribution Conflict / Piracy

La Rebelle stars Reginald Lubin, Fresnel Larosiliere, and Ashley Laraque. It is directed by Sacha Parisot.

According to a press release by Communication Plus, the company who produced the movie, La Rebelle's official DVD release is set for Saturday April 28 2007.

There is also a letter of complaint sent to Arnold Antonin, President of the Association Haïtienne des Cinéastes (AHC) / The Haitian Filmmakers Association, regarding the piracy of La Rebelle and the involvement of Yvon Altheon of Tele Diaspora

There is conflict between Tele Diaspora, Communication Plus, and Geronimo Records over the distribution rights of La Rebelle.

Communication Plus Sold the movie distribution rights to Geronimo Records but there was a contract signed between Communication Plus and Tele Diaspora before the movie was sold to Geronimo Records.

I had a meeting with Yvon Altheon last week at his office in Dorchester, MA, and he showed me the contract. To better inform the public, perhaps an official statement from Tele Diaspora and Communication plus regarding the previous contract and it's validity would help shed some light in the matter.

In the mean time, according to the press release by Communication Plus, Geronimo Records is the only distributor who is authorized to distribute the movie La Rebelle in DVD and any DVD release by Tele Diaspora or any other entity is considered bootleg.
