Jacmel Film Festival Going Beyond Jacmel
Rezèvasyon fèt!
Belfim.com will be there!
This year the Jacmel Film Festival has a new twist.
As posted on festivalfilmjakmel.com:
The Festival offers nationwide programming by bringing mini-Festivals with international films to cities and towns throughout the country. These traveling festivals offer other communities with little exposure to the outside world a bridge to global discovery and understanding.
Yèle Cinema
In collaboration with Yéle Haiti, the Festival will soon present programming each night in different neighborhoods of downtown Port-au-Prince. Called Yéle Cinema, this project will share selected films from our past festivals, free-of-charge, with some of Haiti's most disadvantaged populations. Screening seven days a week, Yele Cinema presented by Festival Film Jakmél, will reach an estimated 10,500 people per week.
Institute Française
Following the annual Festival in Jacmel, in collaboration with the Institute Française of Port-au-Prince, Festival Film Jakmèl will present mini-Festivals in Port-au-Prince, Les Cayes and Cap Haitian. Screenings will be held in the local Alliance Française of each city, free-of-charge, for seven consecutive nights.
