Haitian Movie Industry, What Is The Problem?

Why?

In the real world transactions are made with VISA & Master Cards. Movies are shipped via UPS, FEDEX, and USPS over night so they arrive on time. This way when a movie is released it is available every where at the same time.

In the Haitian Movie industry, distribution is done via Car Trunk Express. Movie distributors spend hundreds of dollars on Gas and Airline tickets to deliver movies instead of handing it to the US Post Office and letting they do what they do best.

Because of that, Haitian movies do not reach all Haitians all over the world which is why bootlegging is so popular.

Why?

In the real world there is no such thing as trust... only tough laws, lawyers, and contracts, and the power to slap a lawsuit on those disobey these contracts.

In the Haitian community we bitch! We complain about the lack of trust. We complain about who is robbing us. We complain about who is bootlegging our products.

What? You can't afford a lawyer? Yes you can, it's in your flag "L'union Fait La Force" you may not be able to go after them yourself but ALL OF YOU can afford ONE lawyer; that's all it takes to make examples out of people.

Someone robs you, you catch him, and you take him to the cleaners!

But don't stop there; stain his name, ruin his life, this is how you do it.

When we get screwed by another Haitian person we complain but we don't throw his ass in jail.

I understand... After all we've been doing that [complaining and doing nothing about it] for along time.

Even in the government, when they rob us, we only ask that they leave the country, with all the money, go enjoy it somewhere else, and make room for the next crook.

No arrests, no convictions, no criminal records.

Ok Back to movies...

There are systems already in place to help you grow your business and turn it into an enterprise; do you have a better idea?

When will Haitian movie distributors realize that the only way to reach all the Haitian community is to use a distribution system like AMWAY.

I you are satisfied with a little store, a little house, and a used Mercedes Bens that's fine but your industry is dying of malnutrition because of your lack of vision.

I would like to see the Haitian movie industry grow into a huge world class industry. I would like to see Haitian actors, producers, and directors become really successful.

But... what do I know... I am just the spectator watching from the sidelines.
