Roopa De Choudhury Biography

Roopa De Choudhury credits include "Lest We Forget"(Producer), a documentary that looks critically at the wave of post 9/11 racial profiling and immigrant detentions.

This documentary screened at The International Documentary Festival of Amsterdam, South Korea Human Rights Festival, San Francisco Asian American Festival, Prague Human Rights festival, Reel World Toronto and several others.

She recently finished producing the documentary "Aristide: And The Endless Revolution", a film that traces the meteoric rise and fall of Jean Betrand Aristide, ex-president of Haiti, which shall premiere at the New York Video festival in Lincoln Center in July 2005.

Her past body of work includes "Haze" (short, Director) and "Grandma's Hip Hop" (short, Producer.)

Currently she is in post-production for "The Nanny" (writer, director), the story of a young Indian nanny facing isolation in New York and "Shifting Spaces" (Director, Editor), an experimental narrative told through modern dance movements.

She is also an honoree of Project Involve, NY, a program administered through Independent Feature Project that selects emerging filmmakers and networks them with Industry Executives.
