Haitian Movies that Suck

Jay Dee - October 25 2005, 3:32 PM

I always wonder if those Haitian Cinematographers and their Production crew have ever been to a movie theater.

Seriously! Were do they get their inspiration from?

I am disappointed with the amount of trash that Haitian have been recently putting on the screen.

I have watched plenty of Haitian movies and they seem to be getting worse by the frame.

THE PICTURE
Most Haitian movies are of low quality images.

They appeared to have been filmed on VHS Camcorders.

They have ZERO concept of white balance or Back lighting.

The colors are blemish; It's bootleg right out of the box.

THE LIGHTING
Dear producers, please get a descent light kit, some reflectors or some candles.

Day scenes are to bright and Night Scenes too dark. If you can not control the light that goes through your lenses, you have no business holding a camera.

THE SOUND
Terrible! Terrible! Terrible! The sound on Haitian movies seemed never to sync. The actor talks and you don't hear it until their next movie.

Sound quality is like an A.M radio station.

Always some echo in the background; just like on a theater set. Trust me, I own a Bose system.

THE EDITING
What a joke. It seems that some cut the scenes with their teeth.

Buy a copy of Final Cut Pro; Get a Mac. Dude get a Dell!

THE ACTORS
Acting is profession.

People go to school or take classes for this. Please STOP hiring your friends and make a mockery of them. Get someone with some experience.

Movie is Not Theater.

I'll get back to that some other time.

OVERHALL
I understand that Haitian Cinematographers (Wanna-Bes) are always on a low budget.

However low budget does not necessarily means bad quality.

I will not be able to shoot certain scenes or accomplish some special effects.

Therefore I will not make any excuses.

Haitian movies may never amount to anything International.
