haitian people are coming out of the closet

Oprah Might Be Haitian - June 6 2006, 3:26 AM

I am very happy that now all the haitians want to
come out of the closet and introduce themselves as haitians.

I don't know what's going on, why all the beautiful, famous haitian people come out like that, it doesn't matter, i feel good and proud of them. I remember way back in the year 1983-84 (I don't remember exact year) I don't know if you guys remember that story.

i was in the 6th grade, I used to go to Miami Edison Middle school, and there was a young haitian man who was a freshman at Miami Edison Senior High School(something like that) he used to walk around pretending he was american.

he dressed like an american, he talked like an american, he acted like an american.

he fooled all the students.

we all believed he was an american.

he used to say how much he hated haitians, he said they're stupid, ugly, poor, they have nappy hair, he said, thank God he's not haitian.

one day his sister accidently spoke creol to him in front of all the american students, Lord Jesus!! that young man was so embarassed and ashamed; he went home, he pulled out a gun and shot himself to death because people found out that he was haitian.

that story made head lines.

people could not believe what they saw and heard.

that was a stupid death.

I remeber in the 80's haitian students from Edison Middle School and Edison Senior High School used to get jumped by other haitians students who pretended to be americans.

I used to be affraid walking home from school because some students might beat me up just because i'm haitian.

I remember my sister got beat up walking from school on 62nd street NE 2nd avenue.

she was jumped by 12 students claiming that they from Bahamas and Miami.

(those crack heads were all haitians).

my sister came home bleeding, telling us that 12 students beat her up because she was speaking creol.

I had my best friend who did not know one single word in english, got beat up and she was hit with a beer bottle on her back just because she was haitian.

they were saying things like "hey stupid haitian, take your haitian ass back to haiti where you came from" those students used to say haiti stinks go eat poop. it was terrible.

anyway, I am happy to know that Ms. Nadege Auguste is haitian and Mr. Louis Gossett Jr. I'm shocked to find out Mr. Gossett is haitian, I've been watching his movies since I was 9 years old. that man is a genuis he's been making movies since 1958, that's when my mother was 5 years old, my dad was 11 years old. Now, who's going to come out?

maybe Oprah Wimphry might surprise us!! don't be shocked if Oprah tells us she's haitian.

(you never know)
