It had been a while since (and Im not trying to be pessimistic) Ive seen decent trailer for a haitian film. 7 times out of 10 the visual and soundeffects are just too much, kind of like th way old cheesy kung-foo movies were. Dont get me started on the sound, most of the time it sounds like it had been taken with a camera or so muffled that it is very hand to undestand what is gong on, has anyone heard of a boom or setting the levels before?

I cannot believe it BUT it is ThE FIRST preview in this category with clear sound.

I can actually hear whats going on! amazing lol. Same goes for the image, whoever did the lighting obviously knows what he/she is going, the faces are defined (the way they should be anyway) and spots, flood lights and relectors seemed to be positioned in all the right places.

In most haitian films, (again not trying to be too critical) but most of haitian films which I've seen have either a Silhouette or a dark shadow of where the body should be and the white balance setting on the camera does not seem to had been ajusted for the scene - turn on, point and shoot - does not quite work that way.
The bottom line is from what im seeing this film will do more than just going straight to dvd and start collecting dust on a shelf of a local dvd vernor in hopes that a bored housewife will pick it up to watch inbeween prepairing the meals and cleaning the house.

I could be wrong but I think we hve a good chance to see this film playing in theaters for sometime and maybe (just mabe) this can be the first stepping stone in building a bridge in hatitian and the widely available upcomming releases.
