The church is coming back!

Where is church today?

Is church relevant?

All these are good and important questions, but to answer them one must go way back in time. Any attempts to give a plat religious or anti religious answer is futile and frankly a sign of ignorance.

The church that Christ modelled through the apostles is found in the book of Acts, in the bible.

That was a church where people love each other, helped each other, lived by biblical principles and prayed a lot. That church was real, honest, imperfect (as it was made of people) but God loving and God fearing.

That church was gifted with God’s power to influence society in a good and Godly way.

Since I do not have a lot of time let us skip to the 4th century.

Constantine becomes a Christian, the church is institutionalised and politics is the order of the day and the church trades spiritual power for political power.

That was the beginning of the end.

So where I the church today?

Not in the places you might think.

She is not necessarily in the town centres, in the big ancient buildings.

Yet she is alive and well and gaining back her power.

Her power to love, her power to heal, her power to care as endowed by the Holy Spirit of God. She is all over, in the hearts of men and women who have met Jesus, she meets in High School Halls and all sorts of other types or non traditional buildings.

Watch out she is coming back an the Kingdom of God will be established through her!
