Beauty is not skin deep in the Haitian Movies

The Ny Producer - September 3 2009, 2:25 PM

Yes I said it. Beauty is not skin deep in the Haitian film industry.

If you ever see 2 ugly people M/F teamed up as co stars in a haitian film, that's because the producer could not find better looking actors or the money the good looking people ask to perform is over their film budget.

If you ever see 1 ugly person team up with 1 cute person M/F, you bet the cute person is getting paid big bucks to co-star with the ugly person especially when there's a love scene involved.

Often times I cast either a female actress or a male actor, before they even know who their co-star is going to be, they tell me on the down low to make sure that their co star is cute. WOW. It's true that beauty sells but am I to believe that beauty is more important than talent?

Would you imagine if Jessifra or Pyram etc. was not comedians?

Nobody would even heard about them. The reason I'm sharing this with BF is because my lead actor leave my movie for family emergency and my female lead quits because her new co star is not cute enough for her. Like they say in Hollywood " The show must go on.
