Haitians In St Martin Finally Enjoyed a Movie Premiere Last Week

We have just been informed of a Haitian movie premiere that took place in the Island of St Martin; I am talking about the premiere of Fabienne Colas' movie MINUIT

We found out about the premiere of MINUIT via Actor Ronald Lebeau who was there and, according his email, posted below, the premiere was a great success.

From Canada, Over Miami, to The Island of St Martin

Fabienne Colas flew right over Miami to the Island of St Martin to have the movie premiere there.

This is not meant to be a criticism for Fabienne... my Haitian people... M-konnen nou!... She is a friend of mine and I love her dearly... Daye... Pa genyen pwomote cinema nan Florida anyway... Genyen anpil machann DVD men pa gen pwomote...

Anyway... Back to to story...

I am not sure if any Haitian movie ever played in theater in St Martin before, I know that there is a huge Haitian community there but we lack the networking necessary to get movies seen by Haitian communities around the world.

Here is the email about the MINUIT Premiere we received on Monday March 30, 2009:

Grande Premiere of Minuit, the latest movie of Fabienne Colas in ST Martin.

This weekend, Fabienne Colas and her crew were received in St Martin with honor and outmost respect

She was received as a queen.

In St Martin the Haitians movies are very much in demand and with this movie produced by Fabienne Colas as a first time movie producer, playing in St Martin, that makes Haitian movies in St Martin even more in demand.

This event was organized by APS Production and according to the director of this organization Mr. Jonas Toussaint, the night was a success.

We also noticed the presence of some celebrities that night that already work along with her in some projects.

Amonsgs them were actor and programming director of the Haitian international film Festival (Montreal): Emile Castonguay and actor/ singer Ronald Lebeau, active member of APS production, and general manager of APAEC (Association pour la promotion de l'art de l'education et de la culture).

ABOUT THE MOVIE
