Hello Friends,

I have always been highly critical of Haitian cinema; only because I truly believe that the arts, especially films can bring change to Haiti and its society.

Movies are ambassadors; it's a palpable, transportable representation of the country where they originate.

Foreigners learn so much about a country through the movies produced there.

Most Haitian movies have left so much to be desired.

They are disappointing and downright discouraging.

Pluie D'Espoir is a wonderful exception.

I recently had the chance to attend a showing of the "real" movie (real because the one that most people saw was an unfinished and pirated version which undoubtedly caused an enormous loss to the filmmaker.

It's an abomination and these thieves must be stopped.)
Pluie D'Espoir is truly remarkable.

From the story, to the acting, to the quality, and to even the humor of the film! Great thoughts and efforts were invested in this project, one can tell.
Movie-making is a labor of love. Jacques Roc and everyone else poured all their love in Pluie D'Espoir.

The songs were carefully chosen; heck, it's the best film score in all Haitian movie history!
The story is moving and actually, does bring hope. I saw a few ind individuals cry at the premiere.

Pluie D'espoir to me is a catalyst.

A game-changer.

Un point de reference, pourquoi pas! It will prompt other filmmakers to do the right, to remember that they carry the weight of a country in their movies; elevate its image and bring respect to their craft.

Quite boldly, best Haitian movie thus far!
Congratulations to the actors.

Bravo to everyone involved.

Merci Jacques, you are a true inspiration.

Naomiel
