Directing a movie is often a matter of personal choices and inclinations.

Putting many directors together does not mean you would get a better movie.

Actually you might introduce more conflicts since directors are known to have big egos.

What you might do instead is having many directors doing short films on the same theme or matter.

You could have these films marketed together.

Or you could bring producers (not directors) together on one big project that they would not be willing to do alone.
