Movie Ticket Prices Going Up to Nearly $20.00

In case you didn't know, movie ticket prices went up this past Friday. Depending where you go to watch a movie, you could end up paying as much as $20.00 for movie a ticket. Why you ask... Let me tell you why...

3-D movies are the new hot potatoes in the world of cinema, AVATAR made $1.5 billion in theaters worldwide, Alice in Wonderland, another 3-D movie, made $300 Million in three straight weekends topping the box office...

All of a sudden everyone wants to see the 3-D version...

Guess what...

Chi... Ching!!!

Now, the theater owners want more money...

So...

If you want to watch a 3-D movie from now on get ready to pay up to $7.00 more than the 2-D version of the same movie.

If I may quote Bill Whitaker from The Early Show...

That's 68 Bucks... For a family of four... before the popcorn....

I really liked a comment posted on cbsnews.com about this suggesting that you should "take that money and use it to fund health care for all and relief to Haiti."
