Jacques Manuel Maurice Died in the Tragic Delmas 33 Accident

RETRACTION - Port-au-Prince Haiti - On January 19, we reported that Haitian Actor Jacques Maurice was in a coma state at a hospital in Port-au-Prince following the tragic TNH Delmas 33 accident that killed more than 20 Haitians and injured more than 50.

We found out later that, instead of Actor Jacques Maurice, it was his 22 year old son, Jacques Manuel Maurice, himself a radio host at Haiti christian radio Shalom.

Jacques Manuel Maurice died from his injuries a few days later at the hospital.

We are sorry for the misinformation and extend our condolences to actor Jacques Maurice and his family.

On Monday evening, Jan 16, a big truck smashed into to the fence of Television Nationale d'Haiti (TNH) running over cars, motorcycles, and everybody standing in the srtreet corner of Delmas 33.

Sources told Belfim.com that the truck ran over a tap-tap minibus and the son of Haitian actor Jacques Maurice, Jacques Manuel Maurice, was stuck inside that bus for hours while rescue workerd tried to lift the truck for a rescue attempt.
