Haitian Stage actor Willy Jn Philippe dies on stage

On Friday, August 7th 2009, Troupe Jesifra was performing their new live stage show called "Division Au Profit De L'enemie" in Ouanaminthe Haiti when one of the stage actors, Willy Jn Phillipe, collapsed on the set.

Haitian comedian Willy Jn Phillipe is known as 'Vertilus' in some of Jesifra's comedic plays including "TOLALITO" and the current stage play "Division Au Profit De L'enemie."

Belfim has learned the full details of the incident leading to his death.

In the play, there is a scene portraying an argument between Vertilus and his wife. She drops a letter sent to her by Vertilus who proceeded to reach down and pickup the letter.

As he reached down, he fell and passed out.

The audience thought it was an act, they thought it was a part of the show, but Fernel Valcourt (Jesifra) and the other stage actors knew something was wrong. They immediately ended the show, picked him up, and brought him back stage.

Once they realized that Willy Jn Phillipe was having a heart attack, they rushed him to the hospital.

Unfortunately, Mr. Jn Phillipe did not survive.

Willy Jn Phillipe's death has been overshadowed by rumors that Fernel Valcourt (Jesifra), the troupe's leader, is the one that died. There was also a rumor that Ernst St. Fort (Nason) died in Haiti in a car accident.

As Jesifra and the rest of the troupe are mourning the death of their co-star, Willy Jn Phillipe (Vertilus), They also find themselves calming their fans down and setting the record straight.

We do not have the full details of Willy Jn Phillipe's funeral arrangements but we wish to send our condolences to everyone, family, friends, and fans, who are affected by the death of the Haitian comedian.
