Haiti Remembers Paul Newman, dead at 83

Oscar-winning Hollywood legend and philanthropist Paul Newman has died at the age 83 after a long battle with cancer.

All over the world the press is talking about Paul Newman's death and all the great movies he participated in.

In Haiti, Paul Newman is remembered main for one documentary.

In 2007 Hollywood legend Paul Newman narrated a Haitian documentary called "The Price of Sugar"

The Price of Sugar, according to Stephen Holden of The New York Times, was "narrated in calm, Gravelly tones by Paul Newman."

Little did we know, while Paul Newman was working with the team of this Haitian documentary that is shedding light on the current situation of Haitians, "lured into a form of indentured servitude on sugar plantations across the border in the Dominican Republic," he was battling cancer.

Paul Newman died on September 26 2008 in Westport Connecticut.

Newman survived by his wife, five children, two grandsons and his older brother Arthur.
