The Ministry of Culture is saddened by the departure of actor Jacques Edmond (GRACIE)

The Ministry of Culture (MC) has learned with great sorrow the death of actor, Jacques Edmond alias Gracie of "La Vie Nan Bouk La" in Florida (USA) at the age of 70, where he emigrated since 1982.

The actor marked the theatrical landscape of Haiti alongside, among others, "Papa Pye" of "BOS Macel" and "Frederick" with the phenomenon that his troop from "La Vie Nan Bouk La" represented.

This sitcom reached all strata of Haitian society: children, youth and adults back in the 80s.

The troupe of actor Jacques Edmond had received an excellence award in 2014 by the "Motion Picture Association of Haiti (MPAH)" in Boston. GRACIE, which debuted in the art of theater in 1978 under the baton of Jean Claude Joseph, also participated in "Dyab Baba ', a film project by Raynald Delerme released in 2009.

On 8 April, the Minister of Culture, Ms. Dithny Joan Raton, spoke with Charles Saurel alias "Bos Macel" about a project to return back on stage in Haiti with the cast of"La Vie Nan Bouk La".

The Ministry of Culture presents its sincere condolences to his two (2) daughters, his family, friends, employees, and members of the cast of "La Vie Nan Bouk La" in particular and the Haitian theater in general.
