Haitian American Filmmaker Perri Pierre wins African Oscar

Haitian filmmaker Perri Pierre has just won an African Oscar for his short film "J-12" in the category of "Favorite Short Film" at the 4th annual Nollywood & African Film Critics Awards (NAFCA)

The event took place in Beverly Hills 13 September 2014... Perri Pierre posted this photo on his Facebook page with the caption: "So I won this bad boy. #AfricanOscars"

J-12, released in 2011, is a short film, 20 minutes long, it tells the story about Vladimir, a young Haitian immigrant living and struggling in New York City, his mother living in Haiti when the 2010 Haiti earthquake hits, and his girlfriend trying her best to hold him together...
