Give me a minute and I will tell you how...

Cap-Haitien's Septen Night Club was also dubbed "Septen Theatre" and Ulrick Pierre Louis was the owner.

When Septentional was not playing at Septen Night club, Septen Theatre was used at a stage for Haitian theater, a place where some of your Haitian actors probably got their start in the Haitian city of Cap Haitien.

There were also movie showing there.

"I remember playing my movies at Septen theatre," says Haitian filmmaker Raynald Delerme. "I met Mr. Ulrick Pierre Louis, he was a great man. as a matter of fact he is the one hired me to shoot a video for Septentrional."

Ulrick Pierre Louis signed a contract for a video shoot with Raynald Delerme. You probably have seen that video but did you know that there was a Haitian actress in it?

The video "Temwayaj", released in 1997, was directed by Raynald Delerme, and the young lady dancing in the video and dressed in "Affranchis clothing" is Haitian actress Nadine Pierre who would later play the role of Elizabeth in Ala Traka Pou Baba.

The release of that video was the rebirth of Orchestre Septentrional in the minds of the new Haitian generation.

Music bands like Sweet Micky, T-Vice, and Laraj all started singing: this tune and the new generation fell in love with Septentional all over again:

"Septen Cheri, Le-m ap danse-w,
wi mwen kontan paske-m santi mwen nan syel...

Le-m ap danse Septan pa ban-m move nouvel...
apre bal la w-a ban-m nouvel la"

What Happened to Septen Theater?

We've been told that the theater/Night club has been closed even before the death of owner Ulrick Pierre Louis. With so little theaters in Haiti already we hope that the new generation and those he left behind and and follow in their father's footsteps.

As you can see, Ulrick Pierre Louis will not only be missed in the music industry, Bellywood will miss him as well.

Although I never got a change to ask him in person, I have been told by a distant cousin of mine from South Carolina, (from the Saint Preux family in Chicago IL, the largest Haitian family in Chicago) that Ulrick Pierre Louis is also a distant cousin of mine; His mother is believed to be linked to the Saint Preux family of Limonade, the source of the Saint Preux family in Haiti.

May he rest in peace!

My name is Woodring Saint Preux and I said it.
