Penelope Cruz was one of the Hollywood celebrity phone operator at the Hope for Haiti Now Telethon: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief.

Penelope Cruz organized this auction to raise money for the Jenkins-Penn Haitian Relief Organization, an organization founded by Hollywood actor and humanitarian Sean Penn and philanthropist Diana Jenkins.

Sean Penn and his organization have been on the ground in Haiti helping out since the first week the earthquake hit.

Their mission is simple:

To save lives and bring relief to the Haitian people quickly and effectively.

Many Hollywood actors donated their expensive designer dresses and apparels in order to raise money for Haiti at the Cannes Film Festival.

Among these actors and celebrities are Anne Hathaway, Julia Roberts, Gisele Bundchen, Charlize Theron, Salma Hayek, Naomi Watts, Diana Kruger, Scarlett Johansson and Gwyneth Paltrow.

The Cannes International Film Festival is one of the world's oldest and most prestigious film festivals.

It is amazing to see that nearly five months after the earthquake Hollywood has not forgotten about us.

Let us hope they stand by us for the years to come.
