A young real estate agent Gracia Leblanc and his beautiful wife Mireille are both challenged by a fatal illness which Mireille developed over a period of time.

Her doctor recommends immediate surgery, but forewarns she will be unable to make love to her husband for at least a year due to the surgical procedure.

While Gracia and Mireille discussed the doctor's recommendation, she felt that it was necessary to grant him permission to temporarily have an affair to fulfill his needs while she recovers.

Because he loves her so much, he quickly rejects her idea and suggests she go forth with the procedure. A few weeks later, he deeply falls in love with another woman, "Monica."
