Sherline is a Haitian immigrant who comes to New York City with the help of her aunt Marise.

Marise's husband, a Real Estate agent, turns Sherline into his wealthy concubine.

Sherline falls in love with Carlo a younf singer. She secretly harbors him in the boy's quarters of the house that the Real Estate agent gave her.
