Pasha Brandt Biography

Maurice Gilbert Ignace BRANDT was born in Thomassin, Haiti.

He lived in various places like Kingston, Jamaica; Ann-Harbor Michigan; Montreal,Quebec with his family in exile before coming back to the island in 1969 at the age of eight.

Very early, his artistic soul was put in evidence when the famous Jean Dominique hired him as the youngest radio disc jockey ever to have his show on the radio in Haiti.

The station was RADIO HAITI INTER , the show was : DISCO MUNDO and it went on for the better part of eight years where he was influenced by a number of great Haitian personalities like : Bob Lemoine, Jean Camille, Hans Widmaier, Mona Guerin, Languichatte (and Lolo), Nancy roc, Lavigna Williams, Ronald Mevs, Reynald Delerme, Pierre Richard Pratt, Mireille Bertin Durocher, Bernard Sejourne and many others.

For about twelve years show business was his passion:

Lead dancer for " l'Academie de Danse Regine Montrosier Trouillot", 6 years
Dancer with the troop of Lynn Williams Rouzier, 4 years
Various appearances as DJ, host for discos ( Le Prive, Luigi's, Chez Michelle, El Rancho, Hippopotamus to name a few).
Host of BOUKMAN EXPERIENCE 'S FIRST ALBULM COMING OUT party at PODIUM P.V.
Host of ZEKLE 'S FIRST ALBUM COMING OUT WEEK-END at IBO BEACH.
Host of the ALL MY CHILDREN BENEFIT performances at the famous REX THEATRE.
Producer of 3 concerts with Jamaican bands like Jimmi Cliff, Roots Uprising, Pluto and, Black Hururu.
Owner of "Over the Hill" productions, responsible for the famous "Black and White" parties in P.aP.

In sports, was a respected tennis player and certified Davis Cup referee, played 3 seasons with the "Don Bosco de Petion Ville Athletic Association"

In academics, went to Saint Louis de Gonzague, Canado Haitien, Le Lycee Francais and Union School.

Then in the USA he went to various colleges in Atlanta, New York and Miami pursuing his passion for the arts.

Now Living in Miami for the last 16 years, Maurice is a well respected decorator and in 2003 he formed a philanthropist entity with Jimmy Moise and Emile Viard called: "ESPACE BRANDT" that promotes Haitian artists of the Diaspora.

He also paints, writes, doesn't sing but now acts thanks to Georges Jiha who is a wizard of a director.

If the name might not seem familiar, it is because most know him by the nickname: PASHA.
