We all need to lend a hand to our filmmakers in Haiti.

The January 12, 2010 earthquake in Haiti crippled that industry by bringing down the last few movie theater that we were using.

Very few movies came out of Haiti last year except for "Les Amours d'un Zombi" by Arnold Antonin with a great performance by my dear friend Ricardo Lefèvre.

The Haitian American Association of Filmmakers (HAAF) has already started talks with the Association Haitienne de Cineastes (AHC) in Haiti to join in for the second film festival of the HAAF in Miami in May of this year, which is Haitian heritage month.

I personally know Jean Claude Bourjolly and I think he will do a fine job as President of the AHC for all the members of the association in Haiti.

Good luck to him.
