Speaking from a nurse perspective...mental illness can strike anyone at anytime, at any moment.

Stress often triggers these chemical imbalances...and it can also have to do with any anti-depressants someone was taken, or lack thereof.

You could be perfectly fine one day, and the next day you can be totally different and your own family couldn't even recoginze you. It's a whole new demeanor and look in your eyes that look so cold. From experience, I had a very close friend, who tried to kill his wife, newborn son, and ultimately did take his life. He was off of his medication for one week, and no intervention for trying to coax him into taking his medication did not work. It happens...that's also why it's important to know your family mental health history, and look for new changes in someones behavior so they can be properly diagnosed and medicated.
