Thank You, Ronald
Obviously you are among those who hear when others merely listen, and are already there waiting while others merely follow.

Thank you very much for reminding me that there are some - few as you guys are - that see what the others merely look at.
With respect to your comment about the lack of credit, I am sure you know that my friendship with Jacques is so profound and goes back so far in time that the question of "credits" is a ridiculous, wasteful and unproductive issue between us. I feel blessed that Jacques realized his lifelong dream of making this movie and that I had the honor and privilege of helping him do it over the years he worked on it. I cannot count the things he helped me do. In fact some the things you heard in my music of the 70s were born of countless discussions, arguments, debates and quiet conversations with Jacques and other brilliant friends, comrades and colleagues.

Jacques Roc is a gentle and brilliant soul; I love him and trust his creative and artistic judgments I will defend him with my last breath, notwithstanding the few areas of disagreement that bind us and fuel us. Pluie d'Espoir is HIS movie as much as "Protestation" is MY song. Jacques stood by me when everyone else ( including so-called friends and relatives ) advised me to hide behind initials and not sign my name to protest songs while The Duvaliers were still in power.

He never asked for "credit" for any of his relentless support.

Jacques's movie is a gem. It is completely consistent with my socio/political views and goes with the grain of his own ideas.

I was allowed to contribute in a way that helped shape the movie's moral/social values and messages...he allowed - indeed encouraged - me to mold Pluie d' Espoir's dialogue in parts where I felt strongly, and let me highlight the correct social positions in such way that they tended to say the right things for our country...That is enough "credit" for me.
Now I stand back as always, and wait for Jacques to do with his movie whatever he feels is right.

I know he will act in ways that make us all proud.

Please accept my warmest regards, Ronald.

I know you are "there", and that keeps me going forth and doing right...or left.
I greet you in the tradition of Che: Patria O Muerte! Hasta La Victoria Siempre.
