With respect, we will be teaching both kinds of production.

My exception to the term "film school" is that it is too limiting.

In other words, to say that we are opening a "film school" means that we will only teach methods of film production.

In reality, we will be teaching both film and television production, in addition to photography, audio production, radio, web design, and more. I agree that it is important to distinguish between methods and form, so thank you for bringing that up.

I also try to make something very clear...

we are NOT trying to give Haitians a voice.

Haitians are BRILLIANT PEOPLE with SO MUCH to say. We recognize that Haitians ALREADY HAVE A VOICE.

Our objective is to assist them in spreading their voice to the largest audience possible.

In other words, we are not teaching Haitians WHAT to say...

or even HOW to say it. Instead, we are teaching Haitians how to use technology to say what they ALREADY WANT TO SAY in the precise WAY THAT THEY WANT TO SAY IT. It amounts to mastering the technology so that it will not be an obstacle, but instead, a tool.

I hope this adds some further clarity to the discussion.

Thanks to everyone for the kind dialogue.

I appreciate all of your thoughts and ideas.

Sincerely,
Luke
