Pouki African yo cheap

Zoe - May 9 2008, 9:00 AM

African Movies are so cheap because nobody pays for them. The distributors who are selling them don't produce them and don't pay for them. They just get a copy and make thousands of copies so they can sell it for pennies.

To have a Haitian movie done, a producer needs a script, a crew, bunch of actors, locations, food, lot of clothes, make up, lights, cameras etc. After that u have to put in on dvd Q-pac so these so-called distributors won't copy it the first week and sell it under their table.

A Q-pac dvd cost ($1,60 at the factory).

A coke is 75 cents, a red bull is $2,25. U can still buy both and don't complain about the price difference, because they are different.

Everybody with taste can see how bad is the quality picture of an African movie compared to the tremendous effort we are making in Haitian movies.

We're improving and this is clear.

But Haitian nou toujou ap achte figi pou moun ka di nou konnen! If you keep thinking that way, one thing is going to happen, the good haitian filmmakers will switch to the underground african american or spanish market to make a living where they can get some respect for what they do and continue their effort until they can make a good movie to crossover.

You guys will have to count on Africans to make u a good haitian movie one day, just like our parents have to count on Dominicans to put an egg or a banana in their dinner plate in Haiti (nou pa wont menm!).

You really turn me off with that stupid African movie Debate.

You can just buy it, watch it home and shut your cultural broken mouth up! Haitian movies are so respected in Africa that Arnold Antonin is the President of Honor of they greater festival.
